About Nevada Business Group on Health
Nevada Business Group on Health, formerly Nevada Health Care Coalition, was founded in 1995 as a 501 (c) 6 by an important group of public and private employers committed to containing health care costs. The founding members of the Nevada Health Care Coalition understood that employers are the ultimate payers of health care services through their self-insurance trusts. They also recognized that they had a unique opportunity to change the delivery model costs of health care services in Northern Nevada by gaining the ability to negotiate their own contracts for essential health care services while implementing strategies to build a healthy workforce.
Nevada Business Group on Health (NVBGH) has realigned its vision over the years to meet the dynamic changes in the health care market, including the founding of Nevada Health Partners in 2002. Yet, NVBGH has never strayed from its mission of connecting human resources, benefits and risk management professionals who share common responsibilities and being their resource for solutions to emerging issues and critical challenges.
Today’s NVBGH is a corporation dedicated to supporting employers through education on the evolving health care and benefits market, disease management trends and competencies, health care consumerism and the purchasing of essential, ancillary and carve-out services.
